Finding Our Identity:
The United States Men’s National Team
Throughout my entire life I have had a passion for soccer. Since 2010 I have been an avid fan of the United States Men’s National Team and along that journey, I discovered this team had a reputation for “lacking an identity.” For years this talk continued and I witnessed the national team constantly change their kits year in and year out to completely different visual identities, while other national teams have maintained and developed their core identity over the years. The USMNT is entering its “Golden Age” of talent and with this should come a strong and lasting identity and branding for the future. Gone should be the days of swapping kits for a completely new design. With my work I want to build a strong and lasting American identity for the national team that is instantly recognizable both on and off the pitch.
