Finding Forgiveness
“Anger is a seed for war, while forgiveness is a seed for peace.”
Eva Kor, Holocaust Survivor
For my senior project I am exploring the power of forgiveness through the moments before, during, and after we find forgiveness. Inspired by my own healing journey as well as rituals revolving around forgiveness, healing, and warding off evil from my Jewish background, I wanted to create a space for people to both forgive and be forgiven. Through a built experience as well as designed print materials, I hope to evoke emotions and ultimately a desire to participate. As an interactive design piece, I invite people to walk through the chamber and perform a ritual at the altar to reflect and release the feelings that hold power over them. So I invite you to enter the chamber and take what you need, and leave what you don’t.
